The Indian suppliers participating in SUSBIZ India are mainly located in North India and Jaipur and the Southern part of India (Tirupur and Chittoor). The suppliers are producing different products such as garments, leather garments, polymer plastic products, handicraft materials and food products.
Most of these companies are export oriented, and Europe is the biggest market. The size of the companies varies e.g. the annual turnover of the companies ranges from USD 500,000 to more than USD10 million, and the number of employees varies from 40-600 in a single organisation.

At the beginning of the SUSBIZ project, the concept of CSR was still rather new to these companies, and the companies had not integrated CSR practices into the core business agenda. Improving the business practices through development and implementation of CSR tools and policies is one of the main focus areas of the companies, and the main reason behind participating in SUSBIZ India. Common for all Indian companies is that they work open-minded with the SUSBIZ project, and that all are interested in improving their business performance and working proactively with CSR issues at their company.
