Brief description of services provided
|
This project is the second phase of a project aimed at developing a sustainable forestry for small scale producers in Honduras by creating the framework for a socially, economic and environmentally sound forestry sector. The direct target group is primary and secondary small scale farmers and timber producers. The objective of the project is to improve their economic conditions and to encourage a sustainable use of the natural resources in order to preserve the rainforests of northern and eastern Honduras. The entire product chain from logging to marketing and selling the final products is being optimized during the project and the FSC certification helps attracting an export market for the processed products. This phase will strengthen the market access for the local producers, and will implement lobby activities in order to create incentives for a sustainable forestry in Honduras. |
