Nature of assignment
|
The short term objective was to verify the feasibility of establishing a fishing enterprise in Northern Mozambique, tapping the naturally available fishing resources in a sustainable and optimal manner via fresh export.
The long term objective was for the partners to operate a fishing enterprise with both own fishing and collection vessels in such a manner, that a cost efficient, profitable operation is achieved. The enterprise was to be recognized as a supplier of quality products to the southern European fish market. |

Brief description of services provided
|
The complexity of the project and the business conditions in Mozambique in general, suggests the need for a thorough feasibility study to structure and prioritise the project. In particular the sequence of construction of land-based processing facilities and purchase of a factory vessel with freezing capacity needs consideration. The economics of both options have to be determined within the feasibility study. |
