- Export Promotion
The International Department organises and participates in a wide range of export promotion activities around the world with the explicit purpose of promoting the products and expertise of Danish SMEs internationally.
- Trade Fairs and Exhibitions
Participation in international exhibitions and trade fairs are an excellent way of meeting new customers, suppliers or venture partners. The International Department has successfully applied a concept of scheduling individual contact meetings prior to the fairs to ensure that the right contacts are made.
- Delegation Visits
Delegation visits to emerging markets are another way of establishing contacts for international collaboration. The International Department organises sector-relevant activities with thoroughly planned meeting schedules. Prior to delegation visits, sector studies are undertaken to ensure that the participants are properly prepared for assessing the business climate and market potential.
- Business-to-business Cooperation
The International Department plays an active role in the development, promotion and implementation of international business-to-business programmes, that support the creation of sustainable commercial collaboration between Danish SMEs and SMEs in Central- and Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America. Working as external consultants for several ministries and organisations, we provide individual services to Danish companies in terms of matchmaking, preparation and implementation of partnerships with companies in the collaborating countries.
- Export Education and Business Development
The International Department offers a range of export development training courses for Danish companies and their sales and marketing representatives in cooperation with accredited training institutions. In developing countries, the International Department offers an integrated concept of education to export consultants and managers together with in-house company coaching on product and market assessment, product adjustment, organisational changes, costing and pricing, market research, marketing and export procedures. We always cooperate with the best local players within the field of business development and education. The overall purpose of these activities is to qualify the globalisation and cooperation process with Danish companies.
- Institutional Development of SME Organizations
Historically, a unique feature of the Danish business system has been the highly developed network of trade organisations and support services. Based on our extensive knowledge of the Danish networks and the needs of SME's we also offer assistance in the development of new SME organisations and services – in Denmark as well as abroad.
- Secretariat for Danish Trade Organizations
Our secretariat services encompass activities such as export promotion, services to the board, membership campaigns, information activities, development of courses in internationalisation, IT and/or sales, participation in trade fairs a.o. A number of our member organisations have decided to let the International Department host their secretariats and organise their member activities.
- Market Research and Sector Studies
The International Department has extensive experience with performing international market research and sector studies. We provide targeted, relevant and easily accessible business information for Danish SMEs.
- Consultancy Services for Companies
We offer the following consultancy services for individual companies:

- Business Studies
The International Department has vast experience in business studies in developing countries and within many different business sectors. We have provided Danish and local companies with usable knowledge about the feasibility of various business ventures. The topics for the business studies are financial evaluation, sales and marketing, value chain analysis, location and environmental aspects, human resources including training needs assessment and training plans as well as organisational development, infrastructure, and authority approvals. Further the business studies constitute the backbone for financing of equipment and machinery, practical project implementation including business plans, and project management.
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
CSR has become a competitive advantage for SMEs. Therefore, The International Department offers assistance in project development and management in the process of improving and addressing social issues, such as child labour, occupational safety and health, worker's rights, and anti-corruption. The International Department co-operates with Danida, who provides Danish companies with financial support when working with CSR issues in developing countries.
